Flight Training

We are a FAA Part 141 Flight and Ground School. One of the many advantages of a Part 141 School is the FAA oversight of all aspects of training and aircraft. Approved Part 141 schools guarantee the student will receive training in accordance with FAA standards. Also, we are affiliated with Utah Valley State College.

Private Pilot

Minimum FAA Part 141 requirements are: 35 hours of ground school, 35 hours of flight training, including 20 hours with an instructor, 3 hours cross country, 3 hours night flight, 3 hours instrument training and 5 hours solo.

Instrument Rating

Minimum Part 141 requirements are: 30 hours Ground School, 35 hours dual flight instruction, 1 cross country flight over 250 nautical miles.

Commercial Pilot

Minimum Part 141 requirements: 35 hours Ground School, 120 hours flight time, 55 hours dual, 5 hours instrument, 10 hours in a complex aircraft, 1 day cross country, one night cross country.

Certified Flight Instructor

Minimum FAA Part 141 requirements are: 40 hours Ground School, 25 hours flight training, spin training.

Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument

Minimum FAA Part 141 requirements are: 15 hours Ground School, 15 hours flight training.

Other Ratings and Courses

We offer Multi Engine, Multi Engine Instructor, Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)- Single Engine, and ATP - Multi Engine courses. All are VA approved. A 20 hour transition course for helicopter pilots to train for fixed wing ratings is available. Each spring we offer a free Mountain Flying Ground School. The mountain flight introduces the pilot to actual mountain flying into several mountain airstrips including Leadville, the highest paved airstrip in the US.
